The NOVA software platform was designed and developed by productOps to increase student success rates through more efficient and relevant program creation, better fund management, and enhanced data management across the entire California Community College System.

The challenge

California allocates over $2 billion annually to community college programs. The task of allocating these funds and tracking program success was a daunting one for the California Community College Chancellors Office. The staff were burdened with a very manual process involving a laborious paper trail that was inefficient and difficult to track.

The solution

In 2016 productOps began a partnership with the California Community Colleges and built the NOVA software platform, a statewide system that would allow easy approval/certification and expenditure reporting. It also offered real-time metrics to gauge student success and match college programs to community workforce needs.

“ProductOps has been a great partner in helping us articulate the vision for the project, collaborate with the constituencies to gather the requirements, and develop and deliver as scheduled. We are very pleased with the work that has been done so far and are exploring our options to significantly expand the reach of the product over the next 18 months.”
